Dear Local Government Official:

This site is published by Public Technology Institute with the support of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, through the Office of Electricity Delivery & Energy Reliability of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Welcome to energyassurance.us. This website supports the cities selected by the U.S Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE) to participate in the Local Government Energy Assurance Planning (LEAP) program funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

This site is also designed to support all local governments, large, medium and small, across the nation that want to learn more about creating energy assurance plans for their communities. Once created, these plans will help ensure that local governments can provide life-saving services during an energy emergency.

Through a grant from DOE, Public Technology Institute (PTI) will offer technical assistance to local governments to help them develop or refine existing energy assurance plans.

On this website, local governments can take part in and learn more about:

  • Free, web-based training opportunities
  • Educational programs including seminars, workshops, exercises and conferences
  • Access to valuable publications and other informational resources
  • Links to important partner associations, state and regional contacts
  • Links to possible funding opportunities
  • DOE staff contacts to answer questions
  • Opportunities to interact with other jurisdictions undertaking this planning effort
  • Access to lessons learned and best practices

We encourage your local government to take advantage of all the technical assistance provided by PTI and to check this website often to stay abreast of all the opportunities available to you during this important planning process. We look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
